The salon gallery "Die Möwe" presents modern art of the 20th century. The focus lies on artists whose creative work, due to historical events, has largely been unjustly overlooked. In addition to its shows, the gallery arranges salon evenings to acquaint visitors with the lives and works of selected artists. These evenings feature a mix of various genres.
Many painters, graphic artists and sculptors, who are shown in the gallery, were members of avant-garde artists’ associations like the legendary Storm Circle, initiated by Herwarth Walden, the November Group and the Bauhaus. The gallery focuses on the rediscovery of these outstanding and influental artists.
We cordially invite you to the closing event of our exhibition "Dieter Finke. Sculpture and Painting" on Thursday, June 28th at 6 pm. Finkes artistic work moves in his sculptures, architecturally designed pictures and drawings between abstraction and figuration. Our exposition assimilates this versatility, placing particular emphasis on his masterful handling of wood, bronze and wrapping paper.
