“Purple Thougts“ - Reading from The Diaries of Erwin Hahs

Our forthcoming soirée “Purple Thoughts” corresponds to the current exhibition “Encountering forces – Erwin Hahs between abstraction and representativeness”, which shows about 30 works by the painter and graphic artist from the time between 1908 and 1964.
At the age of fifty, Erwin Hahs started to regularly write a diary. At the end of his life there were 24 notebooks, in which he critically analyses current events. His notes illustrate that painting was a major source of  his strength of resistance to two totalitarian social systems.
The actor Lutz Harder reads from the diaries. The saxophonist Rolf von Nordenskjöld provides the musical accompaniment.

Doors open from 6.30 pm
Admission is free.

Please let us know in advance, by 9 April, if you are going to attend the soirée.
