Joseph Mader (1905 – 1982 ) – An Artist Rediscovered
Joseph Mader (1905-1982), who was strongly influenced by the art of Max Beckmann in the early 1930s, is one of the most recent rediscoveries of classical modernism. Since this year, the Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus in Munich has been contributing to making the artist's life's work visible and accessible to art history with a photo documentation of paintings by the painter.
We want to share the rediscovery of Joseph Mader's works with you. In Berlin, we are the first gallery to present pictures from his entire creative period. At the opening on Friday, November 24, the grandson of the artist and head of the Joseph Mader Archive, Mr. Maximilian Mader, will talk about the life and work of his grandfather. We cordially invite you and your friends to this event at 6 pm in the rooms at Kurfürstendamm 71, 1st floor.
