* 1923 in Nuremberg; † 2014 in Würzburg
From 1967 on, Leonore Geist is working autodidactically on her first sculptures.
In 1971/72, she takes private tuition in nude and portrait drawing with Prof. Alois Huber in Munich. Following courses in 1978/79 with the Salzburg painter and sculptor Prof. Max Rieder as well as the Paris sculptor and painter Prof. Alain Bonnefoit, she studies sculpture, for ten semesters, with Prof. Theo Uhlmann at the Dortmund college. From 1978 on she has a workshop-gallery of her own, in Euerdorf near Bad Kissingen.
Leonore Geist has exhibitions in Southern Germany. A highlight of her artistic work is the solo exhibition, for several months, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, showing bronze figures by the artist. The figures in the holdings of Salongalerie “Die Möwe” are partially from that exhibition.
